My Herbal Goat Milk Soap Bars are intentionally crafted with a lighter, softer aroma than many commercial bath products. To protect the purity of your skin, I never use synthetic fragrance oils, and these specific bars are completely essential oil free. How To Use

Hi, I’m Tameron and most people know me as Mama Red. I own and run Bella Mia Farmstead (and Bella Mia Botanicals), a small, one woman farm in rural Western New York.

I raise and breed chickens, tend my gardens, and live a homestead life alongside my dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and quail. For my boring day job, I’m a web developer and designer, which is why my little farm happens to have a pretty website.

Bella Mia Botanicals began in much the same way many good things do, through curiosity, a love of herbs, and a desire to create products with ingredients I felt good about using for myself and my family.

Like many others, I started paying closer attention to ingredient labels. The more I researched, the more surprised I became by how many products we use every day that contain long lists of ingredients I couldn't pronounce, didn't recognize, or simply didn't feel comfortable using anymore. That realization sparked a personal mission to replace as many of those products as possible with simpler, more natural alternatives made from ingredients I could identify, understand, and trust.

How often can I use these soap bars?

These gentle bars are formulated for daily use! They're mild enough to use every single day on your hands, and body without drying out your skin. You can also use them to cleanse your face but don't rub the bar directly on your facial skin as it contains real herbs for exfoliation. If you want to use the soap on your face, work up the lather in your hands and then just rub the suds on your face.

How do I make my handcrafted soap bar last longer?

Handcrafted soaps last the longest when allowed to dry completely between uses. To extend the life of your bar, always store it on a draining dish, soap saver pad or elevate it out of standing water. You can also use a drawstring soap saver bag and hang it up to air dry when not using.

What is the shelf life of these soap bars?

My soap bars do not contain preservatives and are best enjoyed within 6-9 months of purchase. Over time, the real herbs and botanicals may naturally begin to fade slightly in scent and or change color, but the bar remains completely safe and effective to use. To maximize freshness, store unused bars in a cool, dark, and dry location away from high humidity.

Are these safe for sensitive skin?

Yes! These are specifically curated to avoid common irritants, making it an excellent choice for sensitive skin types. However, because everyone's skin is unique and the formulas contain real plant botanicals, I always recommend doing a quick patch test on your inner forearm before your first full use.

Can I use these if I am pregnant, nursing or under a physicians care? Are they safe for children?

Because these handcrafted bars contain real herbs and botanicals, we recommend that pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, those with medical conditions or under a physicians care and families with young children consult with their healthcare provider before introducing them to their daily routine.

What does "Plant-Derived Scent" mean?

I care deeply about what goes onto your skin, which is why I strictly avoid synthetic fragrance oils, artificial perfumes, and toxic phthalates. The scents in these bars come exclusively from the herbs, flowers, teas, spices and natural plant extracts, giving you a clean, grounding experience free from harsh chemicals.

Are these bars 100% natural?

All of my herbal goat milk soap bars are 98% natural because the goat milk soap base contains a few functional ingredients used for texture, stability, and rinse quality. Most of the ingredients are natural, naturally derived, or mineral-based, but a very small number are processed enough that I do not feel comfortable calling the finished bar 100% natural. Nothing alarming, nothing hidden, I just like to be fully transparent.

If you are looking for a 100% all natural soap bar, I do offer handcrafted cold process soap bars made with all natural ingredients. Those bars are not made with goat milk, but they are the best fit if 100% pure all natural is your top priority. You can find them HERE.

Are these soap bars organic?

These herbal goat milk bars are made with some organic ingredients, but the finished soap bars are not certified organic. Many of the plant oils, butters, herbs, flowers, and botanicals used in each recipe are organic. However, not every ingredient in the bar is, so I do not label or claim the finished soap bar as an organic product. When an ingredient is organic, I mark it with * in the full ingredient list.

Will these bars leave a heavy residue or film on my skin?

Not at all! The balanced blend of skin-loving plant oils and butters deliver deep hydration, with a rich lather that rinses away completely clean. Your skin will feel soft, supple, and conditioned, with zero tight or waxy chemical residue left behind.

Are these soap bars plastic free?

The wraps used on these goat milk soap bars are eco-friendly, food grade, odorless, non-toxic, acid free OPP polypropylene and certified through FDA, RoHS, EC/1935/2004, and German LFGB standards.

These bars contain a high amount of glycerin (plant-based moisturizer), so they can naturally “sweat” in hot or humid temperatures. I shrink wrap each bar to help protect the soap, prevent moisture buildup, and preserve the soft natural aroma from the herbs, flowers, and botanicals.

I know plastic free packaging is ideal, and I use low-waste packaging whenever I can. For these glycerin rich goat milk bars, the food grade wrap helps protect the quality of the soap so it arrives fresh, clean, and ready to use.
